Tuition program information meetings Sept. 18 and 24
One of the benefits we are proud to offer employees at Augustana College is the tuition remission/tuition exchange program. These programs provide educational benefit options for employees, spouses, and qualifying children.

These sessions are hosted by the Human Resources department and include our partners in Financial Aid to provide an overview of the different programs, the eligibility requirements and application processes. Interested family members are welcome to join you.

Tuition program overview
There are two components to the tuition program: tuition remission and tuition exchange.
Tuition remission: Coverage of tuition while enrolled at Augustana. Full-time and part-time employees (min. 20 hours per week/teaching at least 14 credits) are eligible and must have two years of service. The amount of tuition coverage depends on full-time or part-time employment status.
Tuition exchange: Tuition exchange scholarships for dependents offered through participating tuition exchange schools. These are scholarships and are not guaranteed benefits. Dependents of Full-time employees are eligible for ELCA and national tuition exchange schools. Employees must have two years of service for their dependents to be eligible to apply to an ELCA school. Employees must have four years of service for a dependent to apply to a national tuition exchange school.
Full details of the programs and eligibility requirements are available here.
Application process
For new applicants (currently not using the benefit for dependent child):
- Employee completes Augustana's tuition benefit form. Recommended submission deadline: Nov. 1, 2024.
- IF dependent child is interested in National Tuition Exchange schools (Tuition Exchange, Inc):
- Dependent child (not the parent) creates an account with tuitionexchange.org.
- Dependent child (not the parent) completes and submits the TE-EZ application at tuitionexchange.org.
For renewal applicants (currently using the benefit for dependent child):
- No application is required to renew the benefit UNLESS the dependent child is changing schools.
IMPORTANT: Degree-seeking students who intend to use (or are using) tuition remission (i.e., attend Augustana) MUST complete the 2025-26 FAFSA, which is anticipated to be available Dec. 2024. Students who are eligible for the Illinois MAP Grant and fail to meet the MAP Grant deadline will see a reduction of the tuition benefit.
