Several members of the Augustana community met at Theo's Java Club in downtown Rock Island to discuss community engagement. Jane Baker completed two terms on the Augustana College Alumni Board of Directors.

1976

Mike Hostetler retired after 32 years at Cornell University's Johnson College of Business. He served as director of Cornell's Executive MBA program, associate dean and senior lecturer.

1981

Sarahnell Bady-Jenkins teaches at Longwood Academy and is pursuing a doctorate in education.

Crolyn Webber retired, after serving many years as an auditor, and the last six years as a teacher's aide.

Kai Swanson was named a Rock Island “Citizen of the Year” (individual) for 2024.

1987

Rita Jett was named a Rock Island “Citizen of the Year” (education) for 2024.

1988

Larry Prabhakar is vice-president head of surgical service line for OSF Healthcare in Belvidere, Ill.

1990

Elizabeth Caswell retired as an instructor of music and staff accompanist at Pacific University, Forest Grove, Ore.

1997

LaVette Allen was promoted to SVP, Internal Control at Bluefin in Atlanta, Ga.

1998

Sara Stodden Pasowicz is the events administrative assistant at Argonne National Laboratory.

Deborah Wiggins is an ELL/Bilingual Spanish teacher at Highland Park High School in Highland Park, Ill.

2000

Jeremy Bratt and Amber Wobschall had a son, David Wobschall, on Aug. 10, 2024.

2001

Robert Budach is vice president of administrative services at Mesa Community College.

Brandy Clark VandeWalle was named a Rock Island “Citizen of the Year” (business) for 2024. She and her husband, John, own Skeleton Key Art and Antiques.

2004

Katie Pertl Duff is a 2024 National STEM Scholar.

Anel Ruiz is managing director, people impact and the chief diversity officer at United Airlines.

2006

Amy Zero was named Illinois K-8 School Counselor of the Year. She is a counselor at the Rock Island Academy.

2007

Jessica Estrada is a market managing principal for Grant Thornton, Phoenix.

Carolyn Krueger was named a Rock Island “Citizen of the Year” (artist/creator) for 2024. She works primarily in clay, and is the owner of The ARTery, as well as a member of the Rock Island Arts Guild and a governor on the Rock Island Community Foundation.

Melissa Flowers Pepper celebrated the eight-year anniversary of Lead(h)er, the mentorship program she founded.

Angie Mitchum Sharp, community engagement manager for the City of Bettendorf, Iowa, received Forty Under 40 honors from the Quad Cities Regional Business Journal for making a difference in the Quad Cities.

2009

Jacob Bobbitt, assistant vice president for business affairs and controller at Augustana College, received Forty Under 40 honors from the Quad Cities Regional Business Journal for making a difference in the Quad Cities.

2011

Tim Faith and Jenn Misewicz had a daughter, Colette Faith, on June 30, 2024.  

2014

Ashley DeVolder married Sean Harkness on Aug. 10, 2024, in Wallenberg Hall on campus.

Margaret Stadtwald Hurlbert and Tyler Hurlbert had a daughter, Phoebe Grace Hurlbert. The family lives in Muscatine, Iowa.

2018
